“Just as the sunflower turns always to the sun,
we should always turn toward God.”
St. Julie Billiart

sunflower and skyWelcome to the St. Julie Library Web Pages.  On these web pages you will find helpful websites, fun games and interesting reading ideas.  So use and enjoy!!

In the library we are all enjoying the new SmartBoard–it keeps me on my toes coming up with new lessons for it.  Some of the special effects are really awesome.

The St. Michael students are busily working on their cross-curricular projects–look for web sites that might be helpful to appear here and you can use them from home.  Remember the CCF projects should be educational and FUN!!

Due to popular demand, the links to the videos from last spring will remain.  The 7th grade expressed their delight with  them and were wanting to see and hear them again.  Please enjoy a terrific video of “Librarians Do Gaga”.  As strange as it sounds this video is all about information literacy and using the library.  University of Washington students and instructors created it and Michael Eisenberg (the BIG 6) is in it.  It is on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_uzUh1VT98.

There is also a web page about “Peeps at the Library” done by Millikin University in Illinois: http://www.millikin.edu/staley/about/peeps/Pages/default.aspx#Feas  You have to scroll down to see the actual pics of the peeps and the text that explains it.  (Note: there is a tiny bit of violence as some of the peeps are not so careful!!)

Lastly, just for fun and to get a fantastic view of the New York Public Library check out “Who You Gonna Call?” at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKB7zfopiUA .  It is actually an advertisement for the NYPL which, no great surprise, is being affected by budget cuts.

I hope we all will continute to enjoy a terrific year full of research, reading and reasoning.
